Meriem Bahri

As a Middle East & Africa Programme Manager, Meriem Bahri manages the planning, implementation, and reporting on donor projects for Thomson, alongside pushing forward on the development of new projects and presenting results to donors and supporters.

Meriem joins the organisation with close to a decade of experience working on designing and implementing media development projects across the Middle East ad North Africa (MENA) region. She has worked with several local and international organisations to support journalists, media outlets, civil society organisations and human right defenders in promoting human rights, including freedom of expression and gender equality. She has effectively worked and supported projects in Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Algeria, Sudan, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq.

Meriem holds an MA in English Literature and Culture Studies from the Ecole Normale Superieure of Tunis as well as an MA in International Relations from the University of Bath, and speaks fluent Arabic, French, and English. She is currently learning Spanish and Italian.
