Derek Ivens

Derek is a radio and journalism training consultant who has worked extensively on Thomson Foundation's media training programmes in Sudan. 

He has more than 25 years experience in the BBC as a presenter, reporter, producer and editor across news, current affairs, sport and interactive programming. 

Derek is a trainer of trainers and as part of his work in Sudan he led the first scheme aimed at building teams of local trainers for radio stations. He's trained also in countries as diverse as Algeria, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Ukraine and Bangladesh.
