Building media capacity and raising standards

Thomson Foundation's programme in Sudan trained more than 700 journalists and programme makers across all media. The foundation also trained 14 Sudanese national trainers to continue the work. An independent external evaluation recorded positive change in skills levels and a broader editorial agenda. It ran for five years from 2012 and was designed to underpin a strong, more informed media which will play a crucial part in building the Sudan of the future.
